How to Join Pak Army Nursing Service (AFNS)
Eligibility Criteria
Following is the Eligibility Criteria as laid down by Pakistan Army:
a. Qualification / Age

Join Pakistan Army Nursing Service (AFNS)

BSc Nursing

-Matric (Science) / Equivalent with minimum
60% Marks
-FSc (Pre-Medical) / Equivalent with minimum
50% Marks
17-25 years
Trained Nurses
as Lieutenant
(Female)
-Nursing Diploma and Midwifery
-BSc Generic Nursing
-Post (RN) BSc Nursing
18-28 years
Note (BSc Nursing): Candidates appearing in FSc Part-II (at least 50% marks in FSC Part-I) can apply with Hope Certificate duly signed by the Head of the Institute.
Note (Trained Nursing): Candidate should be registered with Pakistan Nursing Council (PNC). Preference will be given to qualified post basic specialized courses, i.e., ICU, OT, CCU, etc. from a hospital / institute recognized by PNC.

b. Gender: Female
c. Martial Status:
BSc Nursing
Female unmarried / widow / separated
Trained Nurses
Married / unmarried
d. Nationality: Citizens of Pakistan and domicile holders of Azad Kashmir / Gilgit-Baltistan. Upon final selection candidates with dual nationality to surrender nationalities other than Pakistani.
e. Physical Standards: 
Minimum Height 5’ (152 cm)
Weight As per Body Mass Index

Ineligibility Criteria
--Twice rejected by the GHQ Selection Board.
--Declared Medically Unfit by Appeal Medical Board.
--Individual withdrawn/resigned/discharged from Armed Forces (Army, Navy and Air Force) training academies/institution on the ground of discipline, characters, medical inefficiency, weak profile or declared unsuitable.
--Individual dismissed/removed from any other government service.
--For BSc Nursing only - candidates already registered with Pakistan Nursing Council.
--Convicted by a Court of Law for an offence involving moral turpitude.

Registration and Preliminary Selection Procedure

Registration through Internet
A candidate can register on website Join Pakistan Army (Click Here). Date and time of test shall be intimated on the internet, for which the individual should have an e-mail account. Candidates will report on exact date and time given for preliminary test on computerized roll no slip. A date once given will not be changed. Candidates will also bring required documents.
Registration at AS&RCs
The candidates may report at nearest AS&RCs for registration / allotment of roll no along with necessary documents mentioned.
Preliminary Test
Candidates will undergo initial test at AS&RCs
Preliminary Test: 
Preliminary Medical Test
Successful candidates will undergo initial medical test at AS&RCs.

Further Selection
Only shortlisted candidates will be called for Interviews. Interviews will be held at Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi by GHQ Selection Board for which separate call letter will be issued. Final Selection will be on the basis of candidates overall performance.

Training Period
BSc Nursing
Four years training at any of the following Institute:
  • AFPGMI, Rawalpindi
  • CMH Lahore
  • CMH Kharian 
  • CMH Multan
  • CMH Quetta and
  • PNS Shifa Karachi
Trained Nurses 
Four weeks Basic Military Training at AFPGMI, Rawalpindi and CMH Kharian.
Note: On completion of successful training, the cadets shall be granted Commission in the rank of Lieutenant.

Bond
Finally selected candidates will be required to sign a bond to serve the Army for a minimum period of 10 years.
