IBA LogoInstitute of Business Administration (IBA), Karachi Admissions 2017. IBA was established as the business school in 1955 in collaboration with the Pakistani government and USAID with the technical support from the Wharton School and the University of Southern California. Several prominent American professors were assigned to the IBA to develop curriculum. In 1982, it became the first Pakistani institute to offer a four-year liberal arts undergraduate degree. It remained a constituent school within the University of Karachi until, in 1994, when its status was elevated to an independent chartered university by the Sindh Government. Since 2003, IBA has expanded from a purely graduate business school to an interdisciplinary university with undergraduate, graduate, and post-graduate programs.

Eligibility Criteria
Undergraduate Programs
For BBA Program
- Intermediate with minimum 65% marks, or
- ‘A’ Levels with minimum of two ‘B’s and one ‘C’
- Grades of General and AS level courses will not be accepted For BS Program
- Minimum 60% marks in Intermediate (Pre-Engineering), OR
- Minimum 60% marks in Intermediate General Group with Mathematics, OR
- 1B and 2Cs in A-Level (with Mathematics)
- Grades of General and AS level courses will not be accepted
Graduate Programs - (MBA, MBA-Evening, MS) 
- Candidate should have a bachelor's degree with a minimum of 60% marks from recognized university in any area of study
- Minimum 2.5 out of 4.0 GPA
- At least 16 years of education
- 2 years experience is mandatory for MBA
- IBA also accepts holders of professional degrees (B.E., M.B.B.S., etc)
- The work experience is not required for admission to MS Economics program
Post Graduate Programs
- M.Phil. or M.S.
- Minimum 18 years of education
- Minimum 3.0 out of 4.0 GPA in last exam
Additional Requirements
- GRE (International) General Scores
- Two references from department and a brief proposal about the candidates research interest
Teaching Assistance
- Ph.D. students would be given a monthly stipend if they teach undergraduate level courses.
- Ph.D. students will be given full tuition fee waiver for the entire program.
