Joining Pakistan Navy is a dream of many people in the country. Along with the other Armed Forces, the Navy not only provides opportunities to males but also for females.

Most of the Doctors / Specialists are not aware that how they can join Pakistan Navy after completing their Undergraduate and Graduate Degree, and usually, it’s hard for them to get accurate and detailed information. All info / procedure shared here is important to be understood before you opt to join Pakistan Navy as a doctor.

Eligibility Criteria

Following is the Eligibility Criteria as laid down by Pakistan Navy:

*Married Female candidates are to provide an undertaking stating that "she will not be in the family way" at the time of joining and during training time.

c. Nationality
Citizens of Pakistan and domicile holders of Azad Kashmir/ Gilgit Baltistan. Upon final selection, candidates with dual nationality will have to surrender nationalities other than Pakistani.

d. Physical Standards
Minimum Height
Male Candidates - 5’ - 4” (162.5 cm)
Female Candidates - 5 ‘- 0” (152.4 cm)
Weight - As per the Body Mass Index

Ineligibility Criteria

  1. A candidate Rejected Twice by ISSB / GHQ / NHQ / AHQ Selection Board: Twice after Post Graduation, Twice before Post Graduation and once after Post Graduation, Once before Post Graduation and twice after Post Graduation. However, those who achieve eve higher qualification i.e PhD and FRCS or equivalent are eligible for an additional chance. This chance is only applicable when there is a requirement of PhD and FRCS candidates.
  2. Twice Screened out by ISSB
  3. Tested within four months (120 days) gap of the previous appearance in ISSB (For Not Recommended Candidates)
  4. Tested within one year validity period as validity of ISSB / GHQ / NHQ Selection Boards stands for one year (For Recommended Candidates)
  5. Dismissed / removed / resigned from Government Services including Armed Forces.
  6. Permanently declared UNFIT by Appeal Medical Board.
  7. Convicted in a Court of Law for an offence involving moral turpitude.
  8. Declared medically unfit due to Hepatitis B & C (Appeal Medical Board cannot be requested).
  9. Declared unfit by any Armed Forces Hospital except those cleared by Appeal Medical Board.
  10. Withdrawn from any Academy / Training Institution of Armed Forces on any ground.
  11. Withdrawn from any bonded Armed Forces college / institution on disciplinary grounds.
  12. Married to a Foreign National
  13. Submitting tempered academic certificates
  14. Concealment of information in the application form
  15. Females in Family way

Registration and Preliminary Selection Procedure

Registrations are Open!
Last Date to Apply: 12th June 2021

Registration through Internet
A candidate can register on website Join Pakistan Navy website (Click Here). Date and time of test shall be intimated on internet, for which the individual should have an e-mail account. Candidates will report on exact date and time given for preliminary test on computerized roll no slip. Date once given will not be changed. Candidates will also bring required documents.

Registration at PNR&SCs
Candidates may report at nearest PNR&SCs for registration / allotment of roll no along with necessary documents.

Note: Candidates MUST attain working knowledge of computer as registration and tests will be conducted on computers.


Written / Intelligence / Personality Tests

Professional Written test and Intelligence / Personality tests based on multiple choice questions will be conducted at PNR&SCs.
Test Dates will be intimated by the respective PNR&SC through SMS after improvement in the current situation.

Entry Test will be conducted in the following subjects:
a) Intelligence Test
b) Academic Test

Preliminary Medical Tests / Interviews

Successful candidates will undergo medical test / interview at PNR&SC.

Further Selection

Candidates who are selected by AS&RCs will be called for interview by NHQ Selection Board. Medical examination of recommended candidates will be carried out at nearby CMH / Naval Hospital. The final selection will be made at NHQ on the basis of candidates overall performance.

Training Period

20 weeks Basic Military Training (BMT) at Pakistan Naval Academy / PNS Shifa.

Bond

Finally, selected candidates will be required to sign a bond to serve the Navy for a minimum period of 5-7 years. The applicability of bond will commence on successful completion of basic military training.

Note: Medical Specialists will be stationed at Karachi / Islamabad (except one tenure outside). Evening Practice and Teaching at PN Hospitals as per the policy of the Pakistan Navy.

How to Join Pakistan Navy as a Doctor



Pak Navy
Pakistan Navy not only provides opportunities to Male but also to Female citizens of Pakistan so that they can also serve their country. Both Male and Female candidates are eligible to apply for Pakistan Navy [M Cadet Course]. Below is the detailed procedure:

Eligibility Criteria
Following is the eligibility criteria as laid down by Pakistan Navy for M Cadet Course:-

  • Candidates permanently declared unfit by Appeal Medical Board.
  • Candidates dismissed / removed / debarred from Government Services including Armed Forces.
  • Candidates withdrawn from any bonded Armed Forces college / institution or from any Academy / Training Institution of Armed Forces on disciplinary grounds.
  • Candidates convicted in a Court of Law for an offence involving moral turpitude.
  • Candidates who will temper his / her original academic certificates, conceal or give wrong information to gain undue advantage, his candidature will be cancelled and declared permanently ineligible for all types of commissions in Armed forces.

Online Registration 
Candidates can register on Pak Navy website (Click Here). Date and time of test shall be announced on Pak Navy website, for which the candidates should have an e-mail account. Candidates will have to report on exact date and time as mentioned on their slips. Candidates will also bring required documents.
Online registered candidates must bring postal order of Rs 300/- in the name of Director Recuitment NHQ, Islamabad.
Registration at PNR&SC
Candidates may report at nearest PNR&S Centres for registration / allotment of roll no along with necessary documents.
Entrance Test will be commenced from 4th January 2021.
Intelligence Test
Intelligence Test (30 min) followed by Academic Test in the following subjects through e-testing:
Academic Test
MCQs Based (60 min)
Initial Medical and Interview Tests
Candidates will undergo initial medical examination at PNR&SC.
Personality Test
Candidates will undergo personality test at PNR&SC.

Further Selection
Candidates who are selected by PNR&SC will be called for interview by NHQ. Medical examination of recommended candidates will be carried out at nearby CMHs / Naval Hospitals. The final selection will be made at NHQ on the basis of candidates overall performance.


Training Period
Successful candidates will undergo Basic Military Training at Pakistan Naval Academy. After Basic Military Training candidates will undergo House Job at PN Hospital.

Note: 'M' Cadet after his / her enrollment in this scheme, shall continue to study in the Medical College in which he / she is on roll until the completion of Medical Graduation. However, during that period candidates shall be subjected to Pakistan Navy Regulations and orders.  

Bond
Finally selected candidates will be required to sign a bond to serve Pakistan Navy for minimum 7 years.
In case, the selected candidate is not suitable for being commissioned in Pak Navy on Medical / other grounds, he / she will have to serve as a Civilian Medical Practitioner for minimum 7 years.

How to Join Pak Navy as a Doctor (M Cadet Course)

Join Pakistan Navy after Intermediate /  FSc / A levels. Both Civilian and Serving (Personnel serving in Army / Navy / Air Force) can apply for Permanent Commission in Pakistan Navy. Below is the eligibility criteria and procedure to apply for Permanent Commission:

Final Medical Examination

Final selection will be made at NHQ on the basis of candidates overall performance.

Training Period
Two years Basic Military Training at Pakistan Naval Academy (PNA).
